Case Description

Avostini, accompanied by a large group of armed accomplices (the men now being indicted), ambushed Guascher at a wine warehouse near the crossroads of San Pantalon. Without a word, Avostini shot Guascher through the torso. Then, all the accomplices, who had been lying in wait, descended upon him, stabbing him to death. The victim suffered 20 mortal wounds. as the victim begged for his life and for a chance to make a final confession, his killers mockingly replied, "this is the life" ("questa รจ la vita"), as they continued to strike him. the late Anzolo Padoan, is revealed to be the authority who "gave the order."
